Privacy Policy
The short version
- This website stores no data about you. It sets no cookies. It runs no analytics, no tracking and no advertising code.
- The personal data I handle is almost always my own data, about myself.
- I never sell personal data, and I never trade or rent it.
- I share personal data only when the law requires it, or when you ask me to.
- You can ask me what I hold about you. Write to privacy@timknickmann.com. I answer within 30 days.
1. Who I am and what this page covers
I am Tim Knickmann, a private individual. I control this website, timknickmann.com, and I run a small number of personal software projects for my own use. This page explains how I handle personal data in that private capacity.
Companies often ask an individual for a privacy policy. They ask during vendor checks, developer program applications, API access reviews and account registrations. This page is my answer to that question.
This page does not cover my employer. My work for TrulyYou follows TrulyYou's own privacy policy and its own data controls. If your question is about a TrulyYou product or a TrulyYou customer relationship, please contact TrulyYou.
2. This website collects nothing
This website is a static website. It contains HTML, CSS, two images, two font files and one small script. It has no database, no user account, no login, no form and no comment area. There is nothing here that can store information about you.
- No cookies. The site sets no cookies of any kind.
- No analytics and no tracking. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, no tag manager, no session recorder and no fingerprinting.
- No third-party requests. Every file on the page comes from this domain. Your browser contacts no other company when it loads this page. The fonts are self-hosted for this reason.
- No browser storage. The site writes nothing to local storage, session storage or IndexedDB.
- No profiling. I build no profile of visitors, because I receive no visitor data to build one from.
The one script on the site writes the current year into the footer. It reads nothing and it sends nothing.
Hosting
Vercel Inc. hosts the files and serves them to your browser. Like every web server, that infrastructure processes your IP address, the requested address, the time and your browser user agent. It does this to deliver the page and to protect the service against attacks. Those short-term operational logs belong to the hosting layer. I do not use them to identify visitors, and I do not combine them with any other data.
Links to other sites
This site links to LinkedIn, X and TrulyYou. Those links load nothing until you click them. After you click, the privacy policy of that company applies, not this one.
3. Personal data about me
Most personal data I handle describes me. My email, my calendar, my notes, my documents and my accounts are examples. I am both the subject of that data and the person who controls it. I keep it in accounts and on devices that I control.
- I do not give my personal data to other parties for their own purposes.
- I do not sell, publish or trade it.
- Service providers such as my hosting provider and my email provider process parts of it. They act on my instruction and for no other purpose.
My personal projects read and write data in my own accounts, with my own credentials. They do not collect data from other people, and they do not collect data from the users of any other company.
4. Personal data about other people
I collect as little as possible, and only for a clear reason.
- Messages. If you write to me, I hold your message and your address. I use them to answer you and to keep a record of the exchange.
- Business contacts. If we work together, I hold ordinary business contact details, such as a name, a role and a work address.
I do not buy contact lists. I do not use your data for advertising. I do not use it for automated decisions that affect you.
5. When I share personal data
I share personal data in three cases only:
- The service providers that host my website and carry my email. They act on my instruction, and for no other purpose.
- A law or a valid legal order requires it.
- You ask me to share it.
There is no other sharing. I sell nothing. I supply nothing to advertising networks or data brokers.
6. Storage, security and retention
- I protect my accounts with strong, unique passwords and multi-factor authentication.
- I keep my devices encrypted and up to date.
- I keep data only as long as I need it for the purpose above, or as long as a law requires. Then I delete it.
- My providers operate globally, so data can rest on servers in more than one country.
No method of storage or transmission is perfect. I take reasonable care, and I cannot promise absolute security.
7. Your rights
I hold very little data about other people. You still have rights over what I hold. You can ask me to:
- tell you what data I hold about you, and why
- correct data that is wrong or incomplete
- delete data
- give you a copy in a portable form
- stop using the data, or limit how I use it
Data protection laws in several regions grant these rights. I apply them to everyone who asks, wherever you live. The request is free, and I answer within 30 days. If my answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to the data protection authority for your country.
8. Children
This website is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect personal data about children.
9. Answers for companies that ask
This section answers the questions that vendor forms and review teams ask most often.
- Do you collect data from visitors? No.
- Do you use cookies or trackers? No.
- Do you sell or share personal data? No.
- What do your applications access? My own accounts and my own data, with my own credentials.

- Who is the contact for privacy questions? privacy@timknickmann.com.
10. Changes to this policy
